A Local Authority is based in the Yorkshire region is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children's services on a locum basis
Highlights
- Will be working on a backlog of cases
- Will have a greater deal of autonomy
- The aim of this post is to help reduce a backlog and bring the case loads down to 20
- The Local Authority covers a small geographical location so teams are quite small with around 3 workers per manager, this ultimately means you get more time with your manager and more support and development
- Staff hold onto cases all the way through from assessment - this is usually the case in smaller Local Authorities
- Excellent rates - is the highest in the region
- Contracts are being issued for 6 months, however this is expected to go on for a longer period
This is an excellent opportunity for those candidates who are looking to get stuck into a post which gives them autonomy to manage their diary. The post is fairly straight forward as you will be working to clear a backlog of cases; the Team Manager is therefore looking for someone who is confident in their practice and able to work independently at pace and to a high standard.
Social Workers in the team take cases following an assessment and carry these through. You will gain exposure to cases that have CSE, Gangs, County Lines, Substance Misuse and Domestic Violence components. If you are looking to specialise in one of these areas you will have the opportunity to attend further training.

Manage a Team dealing with specialist cases
A London based Local Authority is seeking an experienced manager to join one of their community based teams which work on Child in Need, Child Protection cases which have elements of Domestic Abuse, Parental Mental Health and Substance Misuse:

- Social Workers will also be dealing with some cases which have CSE and Gang issues

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced candidate to take lead of an established Social Work team that is community based and has a particular focus on the themes noted above (DV, Parental Mental Health & Substance Misuse). The teams are relatively small and consist of 4-5 staff including business support and there is an emphasis on promoting relationship based practice, where staff are encouraged to develop relationships with service users so they are better able to understand situations and guide intervention. Furthermore the staff within the service have easy access and good levels of working synergy with other statutory and voluntary organisations who are able to provide support on cases and ultimately work to reduce workloads on staff.
In its most recent Ofsted the Local Authority had achieved a Good rating with elements of Outstanding which reflects the working practice. furthermore staff across services have reported good level of job satisfaction within internal audits feeling that they are supported and have access to training to help develop their career further. Indeed, with this post you will have access to training modules which can accumulate to provide a MSc or further qualifications.
To be considered for this post you should ideally have management experience within a front line Social Work team. Candidates who have extensive experience at Senior Practitioner are also being considered.

I am currently working with CAFCASS who are looking for a locum Family Court Adviser on a locum basis
Highlights:
- These are locum posts and initial telephone interviews are happening this week
- First couple of weeks will be an induction period where you will be working closely with the team and attending training to get you up to speed with CAFCASS processes
- Excellent support, due to the nature of the role there is always a manager available and all cases/reports are QA'd before going through to the courts so you can have the confidence in your work
- This is a Non Statutory assignment where you will be able to gain experience outside of a Local Authority setting
- There will be opportunities to work more flexibly following the initial induction period.
- Will be given a laptop and smart phone and will benefit from a paperless system.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced candidates who enjoy the Court Work aspect of the role to develop experience within a well known Non Statutory organisation. The post offers an induction period at the onset of the assignment to get you up to speed with the organisations processes where you will be working closely with the team and manager to get an understanding of CAFCASS' processes.
Throughout your time within the post you will be supported all the time; you will have access to a manager at all times and your work will also be QA'd prior to going into the courts so you be confident with your work.
